Christmas Appeal
Being in hospital can be isolating and stressful, especially at Christmas. But for the past 25 years, MediCinema has provided a lifeline to patients, like little Jake, giving a much-needed sense of normality and escape through the magic of film and the shared cinema experience.
Double the difference you make
Built within the walls of the hospital, state of the art MediCinemas screen the latest film releases at no cost to patients or the NHS. They provide a vital boost to psychological well-being and emotional relief from the intense challenges faced on the wards.
Thanks to our generous funding partners, the difference you make will be doubled with every donation match-funded throughout our Christmas Appeal up to £23,000.
Help patients like Jake
Jake and his family know first-hand the impact that a MediCinema visit can have. Diagnosed with Leukaemia at just three years old, Jake and his family faced a challenging road ahead.
Jake had been living in the hospital for three weeks when he and his family came to the MediCinema. “He was a small, shy, nervous boy who screamed when anyone came into the hospital room,” his mum, Jill, recalls. “Seeing him laugh and giggle melted our hearts and was the tonic we needed at an incredibly difficult time.”
Watch Jake’s story to find out more about the impact MediCinema had for him and his family.
