Jamie Lynch Appointed As New Director Of Development
Jamie Lynch has been appointed as MediCinema’s Director of Development.  He is the former Development Manager for the Young Actors Theatre Islington (YATI).
In this newly created role, Jamie will be responsible for leading the strategic fundraising direction of the charity, overseeing multichannel streams including Corporate Partnerships, Trusts and Foundations and Individual Giving. Â He reports directly to CEO Colin Lawrence as part of the Senior Management Team.
As Development Manager at YATI, Jamie was responsible for creating a step-change in delivery, impact and turnover. His development work expanded the range of partnerships to connect with Tech, Construction, Law and Finance sectors, and increased fundraising returns from statutory, public and individual sources. Â Jamie was also responsible for securing the financial health of the charity through the pandemic.
Colin Lawrence said: “I am delighted to welcome Jamie to the MediCinema team.  He has highly successful and creative fundraising experience and I’m looking forward to the fresh perspective he brings with him.  With a focus on recovering from the past two years and looking to the future with our next stage of development including Capital build projects, Jamie will be managing our fundraising team as we look to expand the reach and impact of our services.“
I am absolutely thrilled to become a part of the MediCinema team, and to bring my strategic fundraising experience and knowledge to such meaningful work. It has been such a tough time for NHS hospital patients, and with mental health and wellbeing so high on everyone’s agenda it’s an exciting time to be joining.

MediCinema is a UK charity which improves the wellbeing and quality of life of NHS patients and their families through the power of the shared cinema experience and the magic of film. It builds and runs cinemas in hospitals equipped with space for beds, wheelchairs, and medical equipment. Â Its services help to improve emotional, mental, and physical health, reducing feelings of isolation, anxiety, and stress, and increasing patient resilience.
While its hospital cinemas were suspended in March 2020 just before public cinemas were closed, some were able run screenings from August 2020 and were at times the only operating cinemas in the country. Â All the MediCinemas have now reopened for screenings and follow the agreed hospital Covid protocols. Â During lockdown MediCinema also launched a new free bedside film channel for patients.
Since MediCinema was founded in 1999 it has given more than 305,000 experiences to NHS patients, their families, carers and those closest to them.  MediCinema operates cinemas in the following: Chelsea and Westminster, Guy’s and St Thomas’ (currently due for reconstruction) Hospitals in London, Newcastle’s Royal Victoria Infirmary, the Southern General Hospital in Glasgow and Serennu Children’s Centre in Newport, South Wales.
